Проблемні питання англо-українського перекладу гемологічних термінів, пов’язаних з діамантами

| Анотація Стаття присвячена аналізу труднощів перекладу з англійської на українську гемологічних термінів, пов’язаних з діамантами. Проблеми виникають внаслідок широкого застосування англомовного професійного сленгу, наявності термінів, які відсутні в англо-українських словниках, термінів-синонімів, омонімів, неологізмів, багатозначних термінів, успадкованих російськомовних термінів, а також «хибно орієнтуючих» термінів. Надано обґрунтування того, що останні є причиною помилок вживання деяких важливих термінів гемологами. Подано численні приклади перекладу гемологічних термінів. Зроблено висновки про те, що шлях до гармонізації національної гемологічної термінології з міжнародно визнаною полягає в її упорядкуванні та правильному розумінні англомовних фахових термінів, а також про те, що є потреба очистити законодавчі акти України від російськомовних термінів, успадкованих від СРСР. |
