Abstract The classification of natural stones, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on July 27, 1994, No. 512, is not without a number of shortcomings. So, some minerals, which currently have a relatively high value and are widely used in jewelry, are classified as semiprecious (turquoise, malachite, amazonite, lapis lazuli, etc.). In this article, the prerequisites for the introduction of a new classification, harmonized according to the Blue Book of CIBJO, are considered. |
