INTERNATIONAL SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIA IN THE GLOBAL DIAMOND INDUSTRY. ANALYTICAL REVIEW

| Abstract The introduction of sanctions against Russia in the global diamond industry by the United States, the "Big Seven" countries, and the EU and their effect from March 2022 to May 2024 are considered in chronological order. An analytical review of the content of these sanctions, the purpose of their application, the impact on the main participants of the international diamond market and the reactions of these participants to sanctions is provided. The methods of tracking the movement of diamonds on the market in terms of achieving the goal of sanctions are characterized. The consequences of sanctions pressure on Russia are analyzed. Unresolved issues of the application of sanctions were considered and conclusions were drawn from the conducted analysis. |
