Experimental estimation of resistance to weathering of labradorites from Ukrainian shield’s deposits

Abstract Reserch of labradorite samples from Ukrainian shield by XRF analysis was carried out. It is shown that during the treatment of labradorite samples with nitric acid vapor, the secondary glandular silicates (mica, amphiboles, pyroxene, olivine) begin to break down, while ore minerals remain unchanged. Treatment with nitric acid vapor allows to evaluate the resistance of products from labradorite to weathering during their exploitation in the conditions of a modern city. |
